Beat Run 1 time by over a minute

I have gone from being not able to run to the end of my road & thinking running is not for me, to believing in myself thanks to Conor & the fabulous members of the CRC.

I found a new me, dug deep & pushed myself, hitting that self doubt out of my head & stubbornly ran on my own, not giving up & smashed Tuesday's time even though the last 1/4km was hard.

I believed in me & learnt I am a runner, it does not matter what speed you go, I am out there doing it.

I've definitely learnt not to chase the person in front but go at my pace and build it up over the run.

Although I've sort of always known this I've not practiced it but this week the penny has dropped.

I've also realised how important going slow is too and incorporating different runs, recoveries, stretching etc in any training plan.

I managed to knock 16 secs off the first run!

I stepped it up slightly until the last 1/2k which was the fastest and hardest I think I have ran In 30+ years..

I now want to continue to improve and run further distances, but I must recognise my limits sooner!

Now training for Cheltenham's Half Marathon!

Lunchtime spent watching videos! I have learnt so much, not just this week but throughout my whole time with the club. Mapping the route earlier this week gives me confidence that I can do it again and plan my own routes in the future.

The foam roller is not always my friend but does do a great job!

I know it is important to run the best way for me and to not compare my journey to anyone else's.
